Entering a new referral takes only a minute or two. Entry is streamlined by customizable drop-down lists which adapt based on the user for school, bus driver, and infraction. Referrals can optionally be entered by drivers with (or without) a review process by the transportation. Users are restricted to seeing only those referrals where they are a stakeholder.
Referals requiring transportation review (if any) are highlighted. The appropriate school administrator receives an e-mail notifying them of a newly submitted referral requires their attention. No personal information is sent in the e-mail. When the school administrator logs into BusConduct, she sees her list of "incomplete" incidents. As these incidents are processed with appropritate disciplinary action they are moved to the completed section.
The party responsible for completing the disciplinary action; usually the school but for some districts the thransportation department under specific circumstances, completes the disciplinary action section of the referal form. Once completed, the transportations department and optionally the driver is notified of the action taken.
An incident report can optionally be printed and sent home with the student for signature by the parent or guardian. Other options are to email the report to the parent as a PDF or produce or send. The system also supports a secondary language for those district which would benefit from providing a translated verson of the report for parents.
As soon as the school assigns discipline, the transportation department, and optionally the drivers if they are provided with user credentials, can see the results. If the system is configured to notify the transportation department when disciplinary action is taken, an email will be sent to the appropriate parties.
An internal incident report can optinally be printed for your paper files or to supply the driver if he/she is not provided with direct access to the BusConduct system. This report includes the confidental incident and disciplinary fields to provide a complete picture of the event.
A variety of standard reports are included in the BusConduct package. These reports can be further manipulated by the user to help identify problems and provide statistical information.
Do you know:
• How many discipline referrals you write up in a school year?
• How many "repeat
offenders" you have?
• Which drivers are writing up a lot of kids...and
which schools are ignoring them?
Our first customer--one of the largest school districts in the U.S.--only knew how many discipline referrals they wrote up each year because of the number of paper forms they used up! Now, they can run statistical reports to identify problem routes or uncooperative school administrators.
